FAQs
New to permanent makeup?
I’ve answered some of the most common questions below to help you feel informed, comfortable, and ready for your brow appointment.
All About Your Brows
-
Permanent makeup (PMU) is a cosmetic tattooing technique that enhances your natural features using pigment implanted into the skin. My focus is on creating beautifully balanced brows that complement your features and simplify your daily routine.
Results typically last 1–3 years, depending on your skin, lifestyle, pigment retention, and technique. Your brows will gradually fade over time, and maintenance may be needed.
-
Everyone experiences the procedure differently. You may feel some scratching, pressure, or mild discomfort, and sensitivity varies from person to person. Comfort measures may be used when appropriate, but I can't guarantee a completely pain-free experience.
-
Permanent makeup can be suitable for many different skin types, but the best technique and expected results vary. During your consultation, we'll discuss your skin, existing brows, goals, and any factors that may affect your results or suitability for treatment.
-
My goal is to create brows that complement your natural features rather than overpower them. The finished look depends on your chosen style, natural brow hair, skin, and desired level of definition. Your brows will appear darker immediately after treatment and soften as they heal.
-
Your brows will generally look darker and more defined immediately after your appointment. During healing, you may experience redness, tenderness, flaking, or temporary unevenness as the pigment settles. Initial healing commonly takes around 7–14 days, although full healing and color settling take longer.
If you have an important event or work commitment, plan your appointment with the healing period in mind.
-
Following your aftercare instructions is an important part of healing and achieving the best possible results. You'll receive instructions specific to your treatment, including how to care for the area, what to avoid, and what to expect as your brows heal. Please follow those instructions rather than picking at flakes or scabs.
-
Permanent makeup can be a great option for many people, but it's not the right fit for everyone. Your skin type, health history, medications, and existing brow tattooing can all affect your eligibility and results.
During your consultation, we'll discuss your goals and any factors that may affect your treatment to help determine the best approach for you. If needed, we may recommend medical clearance or postponing your appointment.
